Photography is a method of recording scenes using light, which is important for recording memories, cultural heritage and scientific research.  Photography has a strong use in the fields of entertainment, education, advertising, and media.  Beneficially, photographs preserve history and memory, make advertisements and campaigns more effective, and provide evidence for scientific research.  Also, it helps to increase the understanding of the environment and society. 

Below are some examples of them.

1.Ruwanweliseya 


Ruwanweliseya also known as the "Great Stupa," is a renowned Buddhist monument located in Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. Built by King Dutugemunu in the 2nd century BCE, it is one of the most revered stupas in the country, standing 338 feet tall with a striking white dome. The stupa enshrines sacred relics of the Buddha, making it a significant pilgrimage site. Surrounded by intricately carved statues and sculptures, Ruwanweliseya embodies the architectural brilliance of ancient Sri Lanka and remains a symbol of spiritual devotion and cultural heritage.

2.Jaya sri maha bodhiya


Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi is a sacred fig tree in Anuradhapura, believed to be a sapling of the original Bodhi tree under which the Buddha attained enlightenment.


3. Sembuwaththa Lake


Sembuwaththa Lake is a serene man-made lake in the Matale district, surrounded by lush forests and tea plantations, offering a peaceful retreat and scenic views.

4.kalawewa


Kala Wewa is an ancient reservoir in Sri Lanka, built by King Dhatusena in the 5th century CE, known for its vast size and surrounding natural beauty.

5.Daladha maligawa


Dalada Maligawa  or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic in Kandy, is a revered Buddhist temple housing the tooth relic of the Buddha, attracting pilgrims worldwide.

6.Yala National Park


Yala National Park is a renowned wildlife sanctuary in Sri Lanka, famous for its diverse ecosystems, leopard sightings, and rich biodiversity, including elephants and bird species.

7.koneshwaram and Nilaveli

 


Koneshwaram Temple in Trincomalee is a historic Hindu site with stunning coastal views, while 'Nilaveli Beach', nearby, offers pristine white sands and clear turquoise waters for relaxation.

Girihadu Saya  is an ancient stupa in Sri Lanka, notable for its historical significance and distinctive, well-preserved architectural features, set amidst serene surroundings.

10.Adam's Peak


 Adam's Peak is a revered mountain in Sri Lanka, known for its sacred footprint at the summit, attracting pilgrims and hikers who seek spiritual significance and stunning panoramic views.
